Virtual Photo Exhibition “Chornobyl: Rebirth”

On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Chornobyl tragedy, the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN, in cooperation with the State Agency of Ukraine for the Exclusion Zone Management, presents a virtual photo exhibition entitled "Chornobyl: Rebirth".

The UN diplomatic corps will have the opportunity to see a series of photographs illustrating the rebirth of life in the nuclear disaster zone. Thirty-four years after the catastrophe, a unique population of animals and birds, including species that are not present in other regions of Ukraine, has been reborn there.

The Chornobyl station has also become a unique site that generates alternative energy. In particular, in 2018 an international project “Solar Chornobyl” has kicked off, which now provides 2,000 apartments with electricity produced by solar panels.

The virtual photo exhibition, which can be seen on the website of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN, www.ukraineun.org, will be available from April 27 to May 8, 2020.
