Ukraine repatriates from the US “An Amorous Couple” painting by Pierre Louis Goudreaux

“An Amorous Couple” painting by Pierre Louis Goudreaux stolen during WWII returns to Ukraine

On February 19, 2020 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko participated in the official handover ceremony of “An Amorous Couple” painting by Pierre Louis Goudreaux, which was held in New York.

The painting had been stolen by Nazi during the WWII from the Khanenko Family National Museum in Kyiv and then discovered in the US.

The repatriation of an art object became possible due to successful cooperation between diplomats and special agencies of two states.
